2014 Field Day Bulletin

2014 Field Day Bulletin

This Saturday and Sunday is the 2014 ARRL Field Day. This year there
are roughly 17 registered groups participating in the event. As
usual if you are interested in finding a Field Day site near you
please visit: http://www.arrl.org/field-day-locator.

I have confirmed with several members of the Santa Clara Valley
field organization that they will be visiting various sites. I also
plan to visit as many sites as possible, so perhaps I will see some
of you this weekend!

Remember there is also an opportunity for 100 bonus points for
origination of a National Traffic System (NTS) style formal message
to the ARRL Section Manager or Section Emergency Coordinator by your
group from its site. You should include the club name, number of
participants, Field Day location, and number of ARES operators involved
with your station. The message must be transmitted during the Field Day
period and a fully serviced copy of it must be included in your
submission, in standard ARRL NTS format, or no credit will be given.

This message must leave the Field Day site via Amateur Radio, however
it does not have to be delivered to the section manager via the radio.
You can send this message via mail, e-mail, telephone, or hand
delivered note. If you wish to take advantage of these points my
contact information can be found in QST or online at our website
http://santaclaravalley.org. Larry Carr, KE6AGJ is our Section
Emergency Coordinator (SEC) and his contact information is also
available at our website.

Please send any photos or videos you wish to share from Field Day
to me at ni6c@arrl.org. For the full 2014 Field Day rules you can
